It’s almost time to start a new school year! While there are many changes sure to happen before we actually get back in the classroom, for now here is some general information for Art Classes.
Many steps are being taken in order to ensure the safety of our students and staff. In the past, art classes usually shared many supplies due to limited budget and expense of various materials. Due to the current situation, we are trying to alter assignments and projects that limit supplies for students to use individually with no sharing.
Art I and Art II class fee is $30.00
Fine Art Survey class fee is $10.00
Art I, Art II, and Fine Art Survey will be responsible for bringing the following supplies:
The following items* will be supplied via the class fee in Art I and Art II:
These supplies can be added to your pencil box and easily transported home on days you are not in the building.
Additional supplies will be distributed as needed, such as different kinds of paper.
*brands of items may vary depending on budget and number needed for each individual student. Items in the pictures are for visual example only.
Fine Arts Survey students will recieve some individual items they can carry home. I am still working on how to accomodate these students as their projects tend to be more sculptural. Individual packages may have to be made per project.
Please be patient as we navigate this new world together. There will be many changes and a lot of frustration, but we are doing everything we can to ensure quality edcuation in the safest way possible.
Multimedia classes still have a lot of questions to work out and I will update as soon as possible.
Thank you,
Ms. Fryer
Important Art Info!
During this time we will be shifting to a paperless turn in system. Assignments will be posted on Google Classroom for each class. Though you will still be working on projects with traditional materials, instead of turning your finished project into a specified bin, you will take a digital photograph of your work and upload it to Google Classroom. This will also allow for you to take your work home immediatly or eliminate the whole “I left it at home” senario. I can also give you quick feed back on your work. Art is never finished… so, you can always go back make changes and resubmit your work before the scheduled due date for the assignment.
As we will most likely be returning to school during Phase 2, we will be using the A B rotation. While you are in the classroom, we will focus mostly on instruction and demonstration. On the days you are at home, you will use that time as studio time to work on your projects. I will be posting videos, slide shows, and a variety of materials in Google Classroom to help direct you while you are not in the classroom!
Things are sure to change day by day, but for now this is a general plan for how things will be a little different than normal. I am prepared to make whatever changes and accomodations needed to help give you a safe and creative enviromment to work.
We will not be sharing items as before. Students will have their own supplies to use. We will develop a system of moving about the classroom in order to avoid contact and maintain social distancing.
