Secondary Teacher
My roots are in Morgan City, La. I graduated from Central Catholic High School in Morgan City, LA
Upon graduation, I was accepted into the art program at Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe, Louisiana.
In 1985 I received my Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts with a specialty in Advertising Design and Drawing.
I was an art major all four years with a plan to be in the field of advertising design upon graduation; however, plans do change. I found my husband and we decided to put down roots in Monroe. My field of study was not in high demand; so I returned to college to certify and complete my Masters in Education. This plan for my future was complete by 1990 when I graduated for the 2nd time from the university.
In 2007, I applied to the State Department for an ancillary degree to teach Talented Art. This application required a professional portfolio presented to the state and I awaited the approval for 6 months to a year. It took forever! Finally I was approved and received lifetime certification to teach gifted art. This is when I began to teach Talented Art at West Ouachita High School.
